💡Bright Ideas 💡
October 21st commemorates Thomas Edison’s “eureka” moment when he experimented with carbon filaments to create a longer-lasting incandescent light bulb.
But Thomas Edison didn’t do it alone! This “History of the Light Bulb” article by the Department of Energy explains that “it was a series of small improvements on the ideas of previous inventors that have led to the light bulbs we use in our homes today.”
This BRIGHT IDEA forever revolutionized the way we work and the way we live.
Inventors never stop. According to Biography.com, Edison registered over 1,000 US patents for inventions, including the telegraph, phonograph, motion picture camera, and car batteries, just to name a few.
Innovations never stop either. The light bulb has changed from incandescent to fluorescent to LED and beyond.
Innovators of today are much like the innovators of yesterday. They collaborate, create, design, discover, envision, experiment, hypothesize, imagine, uncover, and, most of all, inspire others to join in the pursuit of sparking BRIGHT IDEAS that will change the way we work and the way we live.
