Plant Engineering Manager 2

A well-respected company and leader in the food packaging world is looking for an experienced Plant Engineering Manager/Technical Leader for a site in the Lancaster, PA region. The site-focused Technical Leader will be guiding the engineering and maintenance needs for a very large and complex site (functions like 5 different plants) site with emphasis on continuous improvement, reliability, and capital investments in equipment and infrastructure.

This is truly a combination of strong Maintenance Leadership with an engineering mindset to solve problems. It the rare Technical Leader that brings the proven track record of building a robust PM system, with a significant focus on reliability and CI, able to build rapport with the team of over 200 manufacturing Maintenance Techs, Facilities Techs, and Engineers, drive CapEx, and lead with a collaborative and coach/mentor approach.

With a family style culture, their size (multiple plants around the country and world) and vertical integration (they manufacture their own polymers, sheet extrusion formulations, design and build custom equipment, and more), it allows for broad career growth and advancement – as their low attrition demonstrates. Oh, and they have a strong total compensation plan and an amazing relocation package!

  • Bachelor’s degree (Chemical, Plastics, Paper, Industrial, Mechanical or similar technical degree) and more than 5 years of hands-on experience preferred
  • Strong base of technical, and specifically maintenance leadership with demonstrated results and proven history of improving reliability, continuous improvement efforts, and more
  • Experience base in thermoforming, packaging, paper or similar manufacturing
  • Lean/Six Sigma training and manufacturing experience
  • Very strong leadership accountability and experience, leading transformations in the areas of preventive, predictive, and reliability centered maintenance
