National Rain Day: July 29th
Todayโs #FridayMood is dedicated to PopPop, whose love for the rain has trickled down to his grandchildren & great-grandchildren… who always love sitting with him in the back of his pickup truck, watching the rain together! ๐ฆ๏ธ๐ฅฐ๐ฉตย
Sometimes in this great big crazy world, it’s the little things that make us stop and appreciate the small joys of life… like RAIN!
National Rain Day was created by a small-town pharmacist in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania, who noticed that every year on July 29th, it rained without fail (from nationaltoday.com).
So, what will YOU do to enjoy the rain this summer – especially if it comes to YOUR town on July 29th?
Our suggestions?
- Sit by the window, get cozy with your favorite book & a cup of coffee or tea while listening to the quiet sounds of the rain.
- Grab a family member & chill together, enjoying the smells and sounds of the falling rain.
- Be a kid again! Splash & jump in the puddles – whether you have children with you or not!
- Dance to your favorite rain songs [Songs like Here Comes the Rain Again by the Eurythmics, Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on My Head by BJ Thomas, Rhythm of the Rain by the Cascades, Laughter in the Rain by Neil Sedaka, or our favorite, Have You Ever Seen the Rain by Creedence Clearwater Revival, or our favorite Singin’ in the Rain from the same-title musical].
