Ready for Halloween?

A few fun facts about Halloween
🦇Origin🦇 We can thank the ancient Celtic traditions for some of Halloween’s roots. The Celtic Fire Festival marked the end of the harvest season. According to our favorite calendar site nationaltoday.com, the Celts “were ancient people who lived in the areas of modern-day Ireland, northern France, and in the UK“.
🎃Pumpkins🎃 Believe it or not, the original version of our modern-day jack-o-lantern was a turnip! The tradition of carving turnips into lanterns dates back to Ireland and Britain, where they were associated with Halloween customs and beliefs about spirits.
👻Costumes👻 With $13.5 billion in total Halloween spending expected this year, costumes are a big part of the celebration. For pets, pumpkins, hot dogs, and ghosts top the list. For people? Witches, vampires, superheroes, and a little K-Pop Demon Hunters magic are making an appearance! So, what’s your costume this year?
🍬Treats🍬 Halloween is sweet business! Americans are expected to spend a whopping $4.1 billion on Halloween candy this year. And which treats are topping the charts? M&M’s, Sour Patch Kids, Skittles, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and NERDS Gummy Clusters are among 2026’s national sales favorites. But here’s the real question: Are you team chocolate, team fruity, or team candy corn?
🍿Movies🍿 Looking for some great scary movies to watch – without the touted gore & violence? Check out this list from Good Housekeeping, which provides a wide range of flicks, from toddler-friendly with no monsters, ghosts, or ghouls all the way to scary “non-horror” movies for tweens & teens. Our favorites are classics like “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” and the original “Ghostbusters“.
No matter what costume you’re wearing, what candy you’re consuming, or what movie you’re watching, we wish you a SAFE and SWEET Halloween!

Special thanks to our fabulous photographer AND graphic designer! Her creative touch with her pup, Georgia Ruth, is magical indeed!
