Pop Art Day: January 28th
🎉 TODAY WE CELEBRATE POP ART DAY! 🎉
Every week, we post a Friday Fun Mood picture… celebrating one of a multitude of “national days”. It helps to lift our spirits and lighten our mood, readying us for the weekend.
Today’s theme 𝙋𝙤𝙥 𝘼𝙧𝙩 𝘿𝙖𝙮 is every photographer’s dream: to throw reality aside and play with color and composition! We’re a bit biased, but we think our photographer did a fabulous job!! She also designed the graphics, so we’re doubly blessed!

As always, we’re sharing some FUN FACTS about the theme of National Pop Art Day:
- Pop Art started in the late 1950s & 1960s with such artists as Warhol, Lichtenstein, Oldenburg, Rosenquist, and others.
- Research shows that studying & practicing art improves reading & statistical abilities, so pick up a paintbrush, marker, or colored pencil and start creating!
- Pop Art certainly draws our attention as it celebrates ordinary, commonplace objects.
- Everywhere you look, you’ll see the bold, bright, vibrant colors of Pop Art: museums, paintings, music, clothing, advertisements, television/movies, comics, magazines, and social media!
Here’s wishing you a 𝙋𝙊𝙋-𝙩𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙘 weekend!! 🎉
